When I first met Tim Medvetz, I was intimidated by his stature but I realized quickly that it was just his heart that is overwhelmingly large in size. The generosity and care that he extends to the veterans of The Heroes Project is beyond inspiring. I can’t say that I have witnessed any program like it. In it’s passion, it’s message and it’s commitment to humanity, it accomplishes something utterly unique. This program displays the courage, resilience and undying will of those who have suffered catastrophic injuries from the war, but deters us away from our common feelings of pity or sorrow. Rather, by both facilitating and documenting the journeys of each Hero, it places a massive emphasis on their fortitude and willingness to protect our freedoms in this country that we so often take for granted,. The Heroes Project is stripping away our differences and strengthening our unity by focusing on powerful individuals. The miracle is not in climbing the mountain, it is in the man,the soldier and marine. I am honored to be a part of this project because it is continuously revealing to the world that any challenge, whether it be mental, emotional or physical, can be overcome. When I grow up, I want to be just like Tim.
